Run it out of gas. Change your fuel filter then fill it up and see how many gallons it holds. Give you an excuse to get a new filter.

I agree. As far as running out of gas just get it low than let it sit and run. An ex girlfriend of mine once threw a brick on my Cadillac's gas pedal. Burned up 3/4s of a tank. Still running five years later. Drive by her house all the time.

 

Xj never came equipped with more than a 20 gallon tank.....

I got 25 into mine before it was full.

 

Well went to the yard today found three tanks that would have worked but they all had been punctured to drain the fuel. They would still sell then but I said no as they had a big hole in it. I guess I will buy a new one from rock auto whe. I get payed

 

Check into the shipping to see if you can mail them California. Don't pay top dollar. I will put one or the other in the mail for you If the postman will mail them.

Yeah, shipping a used gas tank. That's going to be a bit tricky, since it has had gas in it. Not that it can't be done, but I have to wonder if the cost of shipping will be worth it.
