Fuel Pump Replacement
Ok I have searched the trreads an dnot really found the info I was looking for, so here we go. I have pulled the fuel assm out of my jeep and replaced the pump, now I cant seem to get it back in. I did notise that the return line had a rather clean end when I removed it. So my question is, is there a rubber gromet or something that goes on the end of the assm. When i move the assm around in the tank it feels like I am hitting something.

Yes. It's cone shaped rubber piece made to fit into a recess in the bottom of the tank. Time for a fishing expedition.

I just put one in about 2 weeks ago and I didn't pull the tank this time. My grommet stayed in the tank in place, but the stem has to go inside the grommet and it's a dude to get in with the tank still under the jeep. You can't see it and it's farther forward than you think. So you have to find it and stab the fuel line down in it.
