Ok, I've got a bad fuel pump in my 91 XJ sport. I know that you need to remove the gas tank but other then that I'm at a loss. Does anyone have a list of what I'll need and step by step guide that I can use to replace this instead of spending 400 bucks to get it done at a shop. I know its a tall order but i'd really appreciate the help. Thanks.

 

I dont think you need to remove the tank. The pump is located on the FRONT of the tank.

There are a couple different ways. you can cut a hole in your "trunk area" above the fuel tank and do it that way.

Edit: whooops nevermind you have a 91...my bad haha

 

even easier put jack stands under the uniboy/frame let the rear axle down gives a lot more room

 

And on top of that i was thinking grandcherokee :P yeah the pump access is at the front of the tank by the axle

 

Does that link work for a 96 country?

 

If you have a METAL gas tank it will work. Plastic tanks are completely different. Sorry.
