I'm about due for a fuel pump and have been searching all over for a good fuel pump at a reasonable price. Of course I'd like to get a deal but I don't want to sacrifice quality since I have to drop my tank to replace the pump. I don't want to be doing it again anytime soon. I'm gonna get the whole assembly and do it all at once. I read a few conflicting recommendations when I searched the threads earlier. What do you guys think is the way to go? Delphi? Carter? Airtex? Spectra? This is the first fuel pump I've ever had to buy so I don't know the good brands. I know hesco is one but don't want to shell out 400+ for it. Any info or personal experiences would help out a bunch. Thanks guys

I've run a few different aftermarket pump assemblies and they all failed after about a years time.

I've got one from my 97 sitting in the garage waiting for a buyer, it's got maybe 5k on it.

i`ll pm you in the morning. i just checked my email on my phone and seen ur post. i`m def interested. just two questions. why was it pulled after 5k and is it the whole assembly or just the pump? i`m lookin for a whole assembly cause my gauge isn`t reading accurate so i just want to replace the whole thing. thanks frankz i haven`t been on the site long but can already tell ur a knowledgable guy and trust ur opinion. i`ve heard oem is the way to go but i was quoted almost 4bills at the local jeep dealership. i don`t want to be shellin out that type of cash for my jeep at the moment cause i have a bunch of other things needing to be replaced.

 

I no longer have a 4.0L in my XJ, therefore no need for the pump assy.

It is the entire assy.
