I replaced my fuel pump last year, it included a new o-ring. I filled up with gas earlier today and can see fuel dripping down around the o-ring on the side of the tank. No idea why it would randomly start leaking.
I bought a new o-ring and locking ring, but am having a hard time getting the fuel pump to sit properly and be flat with the tank where the ring has to go. There is something on the bottom of the tank that has to locate the pump right?
Is there a pic of the inside of a tank so I know what I'm trying to find?

Yeah, the old lock ring was bent way outta shape.
New o-ring is round, the old (1 year old) one is flat. I have a feeling the flat one is easier to stop it from squishing out when you tighten up the lock ring. I can see the o-ring right now is squished out of one side.

i have the same problem right now and it was the o-ring was different than the original. the new one was round and old was flat. now i just have to find a flat o-ring to fix the problem. i just dont fill up all the way anymore and just put about 4-5 gallons in at a time

Any of you guys have trouble getting the fuel pump flange to sit flat to the tank?
It seems like there are some different parts on the bottom of the tank and it needs to sit exactly in one area to work, then you need a 3rd hand to hold it there before tapping the ring around.
