Angry fuel problem?

I have a 91 Cherokee Limited with the L6 4.0, MPI fuel system and have replaced the fuel filter and the fuel pressure regulator and tested the fuel system pressure and came to the conclusion the pressure regulator is the issue so I replaced it a few days ago and it runs strong when cold but when it gets warm it starts losing excessive power when the AT starts to shift while temp reads 210. I Even hard wired the electric fan to a switch for over heating but it does not help this issue. I do ride on E quite a bit too...I'm starting to think the check valve on my fuel pump is probably gummed up or something......any suggestions? this is really driving me crazy!!

210 is not overheating. Please try to describe your symptoms in more detail so we can help you. I'm having a little trouble determining your exact symptoms.

Some advice for you that you should take; you need to stop running your gas tank down to the E level. Your fuel pump is cooled by FUEL. I would recommend not running less than 1/8 of a tank. No good reason to run it that low.....

I know 210 is not overheating. It does it mostly in stop and go traffic. On the highway it's ok until I exit and have to deal with traffic and lights. It starts to sputter when it tries to shift, I let off the gas and it its ok but I have to climb speed slowwwwwlyy and it's really frustrating. even when I put her in 1st it still does it always happens around 2000 RPM. I am seriously baffled as to why this is happening.....I'm thinking new tank and pump? I'm afraid to take it off-road even because of this issue. This is my everyday vehicle so it's pretty important that I fix this issue man it's killing me.

Like pre iously stated, stop running it so low on fuel...2nd how free flowing is your exhaust/intake?

My intake is clean and free flowing as far as i can tell. My exhaust I have no idea. What should I look for in the exhaust system? How would I troubleshoot that? And running on E sometimes is non-negotiable. Any ideas??
It does run fine on a full tank until I get around right under half a tank the issue will show up unless the engine is cold. Once it warms up...I'm screwed on any power. Its won't shut down, just act extremely weak.
