Default Fuel Pressure

Today coming home from hunting, my 2000XJ started sputtering like crazy, thinking my fuel pump may be taking a dump, I have a pressure tester. Can anyone tell me what the normal pressure range is at the rail. It will sit and idle well. But add rpms and it starts sputtering

For your 2000, the fuel pressure spec is 49 psi, plus or minus 5 psi.

You absolutely are doing the right thing by starting with verification of fuel pressure.

Let us know what you find!

Yup. Your pump isn't making the grade. Install the entire "assembly" while the tank is down.

Before you buy, know that there is a BIG difference in fuel pump reliability and longevity.

My favorite is Bosch. My second favorite is Carter. I don't have a third favorite.

I will not install nor will I recommend Airtex fuel pumps.

Which write-up are you going to use?

I want to replace my entire fuel pump unit.
(Pump, filter, regulator, sending unit, ALL OF IT.)
What exactly do I order?
BOSCH Part # 67658 for $200 ?

Is this the Carter you ordered from Summit? $275

Same part is $178 at Rock!
CARTER Part # P75040M Assembly

Damn, $100 difference! Why did you order from Summit ? Seems like a rip off.
Which write-up are you going to use? Please take pictures and notes, if possible?
I will do this one myself, also.

Are you using a DIY "how-to" that has lots of pictures, etc?

I think I'd feel better paying $170 at rock, just in case I need to refund

Seems like a big price variance for Carter P75040M on Ebay. Are they all the same??
