Fuel line question
I am getting ready to replace the exhaust manifold on my 1997 XJ. I know I need to detach the fuel line along with the intake manifold to make access to the exhaust manifold. I looked at it and I am unsure how to detach the fuel line that feeds the fuel rail. Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance! LCFRJEEP

make sure you pull the fuel pump relay and try to turn it over so you dont spill 20 gallons of gas in your garage

Just pull the fuel rail with the injectors attached, or bleed the pressure off the fuel rail and pull the rail off the injectors. I would go get some new orings when you go to the parts store.

That`s how it works on yours and my 1994's but infortunately the newer 96 and up XJ's have a single fuel line that requires a special tool to remove them. But the plus side is they have a more flexible fuel line so the whole rail can be pulled to the side. I'd just leave it attached if possible.

ahhh, you learn something new everyday.
i hope its a long flexible line if hes trying to clear an intake/exhaust manifold though
