Right now Babajeep runs great with a little more seat of the pants response when I accelerate but I want to see if I can beat my 19 to 21 MPG I am getting now.

We are running $4 a gallon here. I know if I want better gas mileage I should have gotten a Camry but I want my rig to run as efficiently as I can get it.

Next step is a lift and bigger tiers and the gas mileage will be going down so first I want to see how many miles I can get from a gallon of gas then start weighing it down with stuff.
I hope u get better milage cuz I have a stock jeep and I'm only getting 14 MPG's. I plan on doing this to help get that number up

14mpg? stock?

We have a 1999 4.0L with an ax-15, and the small stock tires, on the highway we would get mid 20's. Until last summer the xj was our road trip car for that reason.

(of course my wife is almost a hyper-miler going into neutral dangerously too soon...)

Yupp I just got 200 miles on 14 gallons. Stock height with stock tires, stock engine and stock tranny. The only mods are new rims, replacement stock leaf springs, roof rack, sound system, and nerf bars

OK we are here at Sea Ranch and the rain came down hard almost the whole way. Flooded out roads too deep for my stock suspension.... so we went around.

First tank gone and at the gas station figured that we got 17 MPG. Not what I suspected fans but the ECM has not had time to learn the new injectors yet is my impression. Still hoping for low 20's.

swapped mine over the other day.
idles smother for sure, the acceleration and throttle response is a lot better. i still have not filled up on gas so nothing to report on gas mileage as of yet.

i like the mod. but as of yet i would say just stick to the jy for the injectors. no need to spend a bunch of money on them

Well, where I do love the way Babajeep is running I don't see where I am getting more MPGs. No hits. no runs, no errors.

For $100 for 6 new injectors off Ebay and with the Jeep having 170k+ it was a needed up grade and I would do it again just for that.

I haven't gone through the 50 warm up cycles yet so I am holding out a little hope for one or two more MPG.

the only way i could see it effecting mpg is by giving it a better burn. but even then. you most likely only going to see a smoother idle and better acceleration and throttle response.

will the 95-96 neon injectors fit right in to my 88 4.0? including the electrial connector? i need new injectors and was looking at the threads about these. if its a straight swap ill do it but kind of cautious because my jeep is my only vehicle.

I hear you man. My rig is my only transportation too and i can really afford to have it down.

For me it was straight plug and play application. All I did was reset the computer. The performance got better as the computer learned the new injectors and I have never looked back. Since you have to replace your injectors anyway you might as well upgrade.

Did the swap on my ZJ this past weekend. Was really easy, the longest part was cleaning out the holes in the manifold as they were NASTY. Throttle response and idling are the same but I was using an MSD ignition which really helped at the time. Haven't come close to the 50 start cycles but already it seems as if my mpg has gone up. Gonna do an actual mpg test in a week or two when I'm sure the computer is set.

hey so which would be better strictly for mpg the 19# OR the 22# or does that not matter? what exactly do those numbers effect?

ok cool thank you. ive been digging through the forum on this topic searching for ANY negative feedback but havnt found any. i know what im going to be doing this weekend! haha thank you. and the previous post saying how to r eset the computer on here will work on my 88 correct?

It's been 2 weeks since I did the swap and I've noticed a big difference. MPG is up and I have much more power over 3k rpm. Prior to the swap above 3k felt very sluggish, now she pulls extremely well. Keep in mind I replaced the factory injectors that had over 200k on them

Well i just ordered a set off of Matt. so i hope that i see a nice gain too.

I saw a 4mpg gain when i put mudfrogs cat back on. I get 20-21 now with 235's. I have 31's and 4.5" lift waiting to go on. I am hopping to maintain my 20-21 once the lift is on.we'll see.
