Default fuel injection

alright I was in auto shop today at school and the teacher was talking about safety and so he brought up backfires and along with that he said that it can be just as dangerous with throttle body injection my question is this Does the cherokee have throttle body injection my jeep is a 2000 btw

no, you have multi port, i don't think any 4.0 was throttle body injected, early 2.5's were before multi port. so you have 6 injectors

a VW GTI MK2 has tb injection, I remember taking apart one.. and just in the intake system you could smell the gas.. not the best idea IMHO

Some of the early injection was throttle body on many vehicles but not on Cherokees to the best of my knowledge unless it was mid 80s stuff. By 87 they were all MPI type, before I think they had carbs.

Throttle body was early ford, lincoln, mercury "FLM" like a carb body wirh two injectors squirting the fuel in.

I think GM had something similar too. Looked to be the size of a four barrel but had misters in the venturis.

Not all of them...

GM had ones sized for their 4-cylinders and 6-cylinder motors. Each was roughly the size of the correct carb for the engine. But there was an injector nozzle (or two in some models) right in the center top of the unit.

Thanks whowey I have only seen the small block Chevy and Pontiacs V8s 350 and Big Block 454s so I never saw the 4 or 6 cylinder models.

The one used on the early model XJ 4-cylinders looks almost exactly like the GM model. Uses the same injector,IIRC.
