rockauto.com is the cheapest place Ive found

theyre carter kit is 110, denso 120, and a spectra "premium" that comes with the float too for 126

so yea 110 at napa as long as its not airtex is a good deal.

so really the newer xjs only have the sock thing?! crazy, i knew the filter was in tank but I thought it still had a conventional inline filter of somesort in theyre. why did they do this?

there is 2 strainers, one on outside of pump and one on inside, but not sure about why they changed it besides making it a more of a dealer fix

Well if it has sat that long with fuel in it, it's not gas anymore you will have like varnish, terpintine anywhere gas has set, rust in tank(well no it's a plastic tank),but rust in the lines, rail. Injectors are clogged up I would think.Lucky you have a plastic tank you can clean that out. Metal lines if rusted I'd replace cause if they rusted at all that is alot of rust. I would buy a new pump unit from the dealer, yes a bit more money but it is the best unit out there bar none. See about getting the injector's cleaned most likily why your not getting fuel, than think about replacing the lines (I would but thats me)Also if you want to PM me I will explain how to help prevent the common heat soak issue on the 2000-01 xj's. FYI keep an eye on the head for cracking in between #3&4 cly, don't let it over heat make sure rad is in good shape, water pump t-stat hose's etc.For the cost when I got my 2000 I redid the entire cooling system.Keep us posted if you got any ? and you don't get a good answer from here it will happen,PM me I'll try to help ya out.gl
