Default fuel filter

i have a 1996 jeep cherokee sport, and recently turned on my jeep and noticed a steady drip coming from my fuel filter. why could this be? what all should i check to get to the route of this problem? Mind you this is a new filter and just recently started getting cold at my house.

Check the connections an make sure you snugged everything right. Use spring clamps instead of the scroll screw type. If the rubber tubes are cracked, replace them an spray the outside with plastic safe silicone spray.
