I noticed today that my front swaybar looks funny and i havent noticed it before. On the driver side it has about 1-1.5inch of clearance from the coil spring. on the passenger side however it is butted up right against the coil spring. I discovered this cause i heard a clanking sound when i went over a speed bump (very slowly). so i checked it out and it is when the spring compresses it hits the factory sway bar extension. Has anyone heard of them bending or tweeking from being on the road? Antime I wheel i completely remove it from unerneath the jeep so it shouldn't be going through any major strain that i know of. It doesn't look bent by eye and the bushings are brand new and the brackets are in good shape.

when you lifted it did you get a new trac bar and re center the axle? my axle used to be off center and it caused the coil to touch the sway bar on one side.

Guys
Mine also did the same think right after I put some coil spacers on it. The coil sat ever so slightly foreward which caused it to rub when I went over bumps, especially if the bump was only one wheel.
My bar bushings at the frame were shot so when I replaced them it did help a little, though a good bump will touch them every once and a while.
I was looking at other cherokees (parking lots and JY) and a whole bunch of them seem to be the same way, both lifted and stock.

Ive had a similar problem. rustys 3 inch lift, with 2 inch spacers. HD trac bar mounting bracket, as well as adjustable trac bar, and quick disconnects. Seems like the mounts for the sway bar at the axle have both shifted to the passanger side a good amount. Even with the front end upgraded parts, still seems to happen. 99XJ by the way.
