Front speaker relocation
I have a 99 Cherokee that needs new front speakers, the drivers side is missing and the left side has the broken wire so it doesnt work half the time.
I was thinking of relocating the speakers somewhere else but Im not sure of where would be a good location, Im not looking for great sound, I just want sound. I took my carpet out, have no muffler(for now) and would one day like to have the doors be removable so thats part of the reason I dont want them back in the doors beside the fact the wiring sucks. They will also probably be marine speakers so the water doesnt effect them as much.
Has anyone put them on top of the transmission hump, like in the area by the vents for the feet? That seems like it might work, but im not sure how well. Or are there pods that go on the pillars on the front window?

Id rather avoid under the seats, I kinda want to change seats, and I tend to get all kinds of crap on the floors, part of why I took out my carpet. I was hoping for the trans hump.

If you're set on the trans hump then you should rephrase your original question. Only thing I could suggest would be where the change/ash tray is but that would require cutting up the dash down there.

I don't care what size. Probably smaller. All I care is that my boots don't get in the way. Wear large hunting boots. And they aren't on the floor. At least 2-3 inches off the floor as I tend to get lots of crap in my floors. I'm willing to cut into the center console. I'm not against that as long as you can get a grill so I don't damage the speaker.
