Default front rear ends

Pretty much all Cherokee front rear ends will bolt into a 88? Are they any better ones to look for from.a junkyard. The one on my 88 has its axle out and i don't feel like trying to fix it.he said it had lockers but it's to much trouble.

I'm not confused, I'm pretty sure he's calling the D30 a 'front rear end' instead of a 'front axle'

Any front end after 91....maybe 94, but pretty sure after 91.

But if you put a little work into a disco front axle it can be stronger than a non disco. Since the disco exists, there is a bit more beef to that side. And you can easily and freely bypass the disconnect, or CAD.

There is a write up here...gimme a min...

Free and easy CAD bypass:

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/fr...ss-91-a-38629/

And it is the 91 and earlier front ends that have the CAD, or disconnect.

LPs should be 2000-2001.

As well as TJ Wranglers and (I think) all GCs.

how about take a pic of your front axle as it sits now.
when you say the axle is out, do you mean the whole axle, or just an inner shaft?

pop the cover, drain the fluid and inspect the locker, chances are it will be much easier and cheaper to fix the one you have.

pics please.
