Talking Front Fender

Okay, I need to do some trimming for my 2000. I have already trimmed the back side and the front of the front wheel wells. However, the 31's still rub at flex. The late model XJs have the plastic end-caps with the bumpstops on them that cover the ends of the front bumper. How should I go about taking these off and once off, the bumper ends are just open channel, correct? Any info is greatly appreciated!!!

Sorry, I am new to the whole jeep world....but it is consuming my already non existent life pretty quickly ha
