front end vibration
My 2001 cherokee has recently started vibrating on the front driver side. Usually when slowing down even if I dont use the brakes. Also sometimes if I accelerate when it starts to vibrate it will stop. Pressy sure its not the tires. Any suggestions? Thanks.

axle shaft ujoints, hubs, wheel bearings, rod ends, brakes, etc. wouldn't rule out tires just yet, just start checking. and if you check them and know its not them you can check it off your list to be sure. I'd start by checking things in the wheel/hub assembly on the D side though.

Does it do it at a certain speed? If when your accelerating and decelerating and at a certain speed it does it I would say tire balance.
Jack that tire off of the ground and grab it at 9 and 3 O'clock and wiggle it hard. If it moves alot and your steering wheel doesn't move at all your steering needs tightened up, new tierods, etc. Then grab it at 12 and 6 if it moves at all make sure the lugs are tight, if it still moves, your wheel bearings are worn........
I do this every Oil change.......Only works on the front ones though.....
If you can't see anything wrong swap the front tires if the problem stays on the same side its your suspension/drive line......if it moves, have your tire remounted and balanced...

I wouldn't rule you tires out yet, either. The best way to rule the tires out is to rotate them. If you're like most of us, it's most likely time to do it, anyway. Then take it for a drive. If your vibe is still there based on what you've said. You feel it when slowing with or without brakes apllied. I'd say it's either the axle U-joint on that side or the wheel bearing on that side. Just know whatever you do to the left side to fix this problem, also do it to the right side. Any repairs to front wheel bearing, hub, brakes or axle area. Should be done to both sides.
