I crawled underneath the xj today and was looking around and grabbing stuff here and there and noticed the yoke coming out of the front driveshaf has movement in it.... You can move it up and down/side to side and rotate to it in a circle motion... I assume this isn't a good thing... But need some info on the issue?? Again new to xj world!

Normally excessive side to side or up/down movement there is accompanied by an oil leak. Any appreciable circular motion shouldn't happen unless the front wheels are turning. Fraction of an inch at most when parts get worn.
I suspect you already know the diff cover has to come off. Should be interesting to see what is (or isn't) in there.
