Default Front Drive Shaft from the yard

So i went to the local u pull it yard to see what they had today. i found a front axle off a 93+- xj. not sure how the whole shaft looked bc the xj was sitting flat on the ground, no wheels or tires. i could see part of it and it looked to have normal light rust. so the guy told me 75 bucks for it. but he would have to get a forklift out there to raise the xj up so i could pull it.

I have a 98 with 4.5" lift and am looking to do the sye.
i have the dana 30 (I think) up front and the 8.25 in the rear (for sure).

my two questions is this.
Is 75 bucks to expensive for this part?
Will it work on my xj for the sye?

i have hardly any experience with parts from the yard and there price.

Thanks

Yes $75 is ridiculous. $20-35 is more like it.
As long as it's from a 91+ AW4 it will work.

Look in the cab and see what shifter is in it.

Grand Cherokee v8 auto front shafts will work too. They're a little linger. Ran one on my front at 4" and it worked. The one I got was from a 95ish ZJ. Might help you go back and look.
