front diff question...searched no luck

is the front differential in a 97 Grand cherokee laredo the same as a 98 grand cherokee laredo? im asking because ive installed one in my jeep and it makes this nasty grrrr sound like i have choppy/ or off road tires

Should be no difference, sounds like you have a bad diff
