Default front axle has play?

ok so im sitting on a 4.5 rc lift. when I go backwards and hit the brake you can see the front axle move back. when I go forward and hit the brake it shift's forward. its only the slightest bit but I hear a clunk/pop everytime. you can also see the drop bracket move a little bit.

what could this be? I was thinking the bushings are bad in the upper or lower control arms and need to be replaced? any other idea's? all the bolts seem tight and the control arms themselves don't seem to have play in them.

Well, if you see the drop bracket move, I think that would be your first indication of where the problem might be. Control arm bushings also seem like a good place to check.

yea im thinking either bad bushings are causing the bracket to move. or the crappy rc bracket is causing the control arms to move. only one way to find out I guess lol. I have adj control arms so I was thinking of taking the drop bracket out and putting the arms in the stock location to see if it solves anything. any thoughts?

Yeah, try removing the drop brackets first. You should be fine at 4.5 without them, I'd think. Might ride a little rougher. But after all, it is "Rough Country"!

You might as well inspect your bushings though since you'll have em out
