Default fried ign. switch #3

the past few days my ign. box has been giving me troubles, when I start my jeep the accessories (ie.. blower motor, radio and headlights) do not work. Jiggling the harness worked for a few days but not any more. bypassed that part of the switch to keep going till my days off, but am wondering what the problem is? It is the same prong on the switch all three times now, anyone have any ideas? I know its a possible short or bad ground but where?

90 renix bone stock 427,000 mi as of today, long live the jeep

Your ignition switch has failed and the big blue wire in the switch plug is fried.

Make sure you repair or replace the connection that looks "fried" so it grabs on the new switch tightly and cleanly.

bought some new connectors when I bought the new switch.... the plastic plug part of the harness "kinda" melted. gonna have to probably rework the harness a little bit.

Make sure the connectors are darned tight. No wiggling, or it will happen again.

For some reason when this happened to my wife's XJ recently, she was more concerned with AC than the radio. Just sayin'.

update.... found the source of the fried switch ,the starter. Replaced it last week and all of the power and electric problems have vanished. Took three months but believe I found the source.
