frame trac bar hole size different?

frame trac bar hole size different?
swapping a lift from a 97 XJ to a 89 MJ... the adjustable trac bar bolt WILL NOT go up into the hole on the 89... not even close... its to small... anybody know if they changed up? probly have to drill it out or order a new link from i guess RE... but im just curious and dont know if anyone else has ran into this... thanks!
