Why should they? Dealers get paid for fixing engines if it is under warranty.

Dealers and independent shops get paid for fixing engines not under warranty.

Salvage yards get to part out otherwise good vehicles when people can't afford to fix their engines when they use crappy filters and oil.

Or people go buy another new or used car to replace the one they maintained poorly.

Therefore, crappy filters are good for the economy. Job security for mechanics and many other people in the automotive industry.

Everybody should run FRAM and STP. Keep America strong!

If Fram is the same price as Wix or the other good quality filters that don't skimp on quality, where does the money go?

To their ad campaign telling you how great they are. Very common advertising/sales volume scam so they make more money.

Wonder why Wix and other quality filters haven't done the same thing (advertise their superior quality) and run Fram out of business?

Simple. To do that, they would have to skimp on quality in order to pay for high dollar advertising.

So if the Fram costs the same as a medium quality burger, why buy the fram? Burger FTW

Seems like if the quality was that much better, it would sell itself without spending more on advertising.

That's how marketing works.

Most folks don't know one filter from another and rely on TV advertising for brand recognition.

It's a popularity contest, not a quality contest.

Hence my "sheeple" comment earlier on.

You are not familiar with how America really works nowadays. It has nothing to with quality...which is why all of our manufacturing has vanished.

The bottom line is profitability and monopolistic domination at all costs....

The plebs demand a name and if they see some stickers on a racecar, that is all they need...even though those racecars don't actually use the products they are decorated with.

It is a funny world we live in...and not one conducive to quality.
