Default Found this torn in half rubber hose?

Can someone please tell me what this is? I was detailing my engine bay and just happend to see this. Ive had the jeep for two weeks and am learning all I can. Thanks.

That pic confuses me, but is it a diff breather hose? Where is the start and end of it?

Looks like diff breather hose. Mine looks exactly like yours.

So being that it is just a breather tube, there really isnt any reason to be in a hurry to repair it?

Not unless you plan on driving through some puddles that will submerge it, you dont want water getting in there

Its simple eough..get it off your diff...take it to autoparts store as for same size rubber hose. You need roughly 40"..it runs from the diff up to a high point in the engine bay. Mine was ziptied to the firewall so I put it in the same place. I'd get 3 1/2-4 feet of hose though. That way you can put it where you want and not have to worry.

Cost about 4 bucks, time maybe 20 minutes?
Way better the replacing the diff fluid!

just be sure to leave it a bit slack under there.
if it's tight, you will rip it off the first time you flex.
