the rubi 44's are just 44 centers anyway.

that 9" can be made to work, but truss the housing, and it's probably a low spline count axle, I would at the very least 31 spline it. make sure your widths and lug patterns are in check as well

Just means I'll have to do the 44 the hard way but oh well just means more fab and fun time Still looking for some 9" advice though. Unless someone whats to try and convince me it's a D35 just kidding.
Now that you mention it, it looks like a dana 35 with a disc conversion.

OK so what I thought was a 44 is a low pinion D30 out of a TJ. I don't know how I got that mixed up but oh well. I'm still good for throwing the 9in in the rear. The plan is to stick with the front D30 and either regear them both to 4.10's or just find a cheap set of stock 9in 3.55 gears to match the front D30. I'll be running this with some 33X10.50X15 BFG M/T's. The 9in is going to be some serious overkill I think but hey I got it cheaper than an 8.8 so I'm happy either way

As far as the spline count I'm pretty sure it's 31. If it's not future plans will be to put 31 spline cromoly's in it. The axle is supposedly 1in shorter on both sides than the D35 so I plan on buying some 1in wheel adapters to make it space out and to set the bolt pattern at 5 on 4.5

I still need to figure out if it's a big bearing or not. How exactly do I check that?
