ford 8.8 Question

my question on the axle swap im going to be conquering soon is whether i could copy all the angles and measurements from the axle thats all ready in the xj and simply swap them over to the 8.8 without getting into much trouble? i know the 8.8 is narrower than the D35 and also that the driveline angle will not need to be changed?

I believe that's what my buddy did that put the 8.8 in mine. I do believe he pointed the pinion up a lil' higher, though. It's basically "looking" at the TC output shaft.
