i found a ford 8.8 out of a 97 explore for 175 i was wondering if it is a good buy and what all do i need from the explore the make it work in a 92 cherokee thanks

BUY IT!!!!! i think 97 plus were disc brakes and some came with 4.10 gears but if not they are 3.73 i think. but 3.7?. also 8.8s are spring under so you would have to relocate the spring mounts to the top. other than mounts and gears its a pretty strait forward swap.

also its a good price around here i have been looking and havnt found anything under $300 so i think its a good deal.

They came with 3.27 3.55 3.73 and 4.10 gears so try to get the lowest gear

yea it has disc brakes but how do you tell what gears are in the 8.8

there should be a little tag on one of the bolts on the dif cover with the numbers stamped on to it
