Default To Fold or To Trim - The Rear Fenders

I'm gonna trim my fenders this week, or weekend whenever. I know pretty much how to do the fronts but I've heard of folding the rears?

What would be the advantages of this? Why not just trim out the extra metal up to the body just like the fronts?

Also once trimmed do I take a drill bit grinder to the edges the smooth them out then put like touch up paint on the bare metal so it doesn't rust?

Advice, opinions and links to a good guide (I've read a few awhile back) are all appreciated!

Thanks!

the rear has sheetmetal that is spot welded together so if you cut it, you have a gap between the two. you can do the body work to make it look good, or you can go the quick/less difficult way and cut/trim/fold back... which is what i did...

So you just cut at each of those lines and folded back and it came out like that? I think that looks good!

Is it just the lighting or is it silver along the edge?

thanksies

looks like he painted it. when you do it the paint will flake to the body line/ you will need to paint it after you do it. you would have to paint if you cut also

im going without, im not sure how you would reattach the stock flares without just like using long screws and just screwing them down. But then I think your rear doors would be hitting them and it would look funky
