Default Fluid change

Hello Jeepers!
Just aquired a 99 Classic. I'm planning on changing fluids and inspecting the diff's and other goodies. I was wondering what brands of fluid you folks like or do you buy what's on sale? I'm partial to certain brands in my other toys. Wondered what you use. Thanks folks.

Focus on the cooling system and don't just replace fluids there. Go over the entire cooling system with a fine tooth comb and replace anything that is suspect. Parts are cheap.

As far as fluids, I use Shell Rotella T6 oil, Napa Gold 1515 oil filter (need to add an extra half quart of oil as this is a bigger filter). For all other fluids, I just use a good name brand.

First off, welcome.

Secondly, it does this old man good to see posts like this. What you're doing is EXACTLY what every owner of a "new" vehicle should do.

Which brands are you partial to? I kinda like the ones mentioned in Post 2.

I run Lucas products in all my bikes and quads with factory filters. In my automobiles I have always been partial to Valvoline (not for any particular reason). I like napa/wix filters. This is my second XJ. This one was a 1 owner vehicle. Has 205K on it. Runs great and doesn't leak anywhere so far. It's very clean with a few minor electrical issues (door locks, speakers). But functions like it's supposed to.

No pics? We love pics

If you are buying Valvoline anyway, it'll be just fine in the Jeep. Most any name brand oil is. Good filter choice.
The only Lucas product I buy for automobiles is the red n' tacky grease. Seems to be good stuff.
