True. I took many many MANY precautions with mine even going as far as using a wire brush on a drill to clean out the rust in the holes then painting over them and ordering brand new bolts for the seats because i dont trust my old ones and thats where my rust began from those screw holes. By order i mean every frickin hardware store and such had NO right size for them so had to go to the auto parts store and order some.
Just got mine done as well as sections of the frame patched up. $1400 for new floor pans all the way, undercoating on the whole frame/floors inside/out, was laid up for about 3 weeks. Feels so much tighter and quieter. Well worth it, gave the XJ a new lease on life.
Just keep looking for shops. None of the restoration or collision shops wanted to touch it, the normal shop I took take it to (that I didn't know to be much into body work) actually jumped on it. So just ask around. You'll hear 10 no's but all it takes is 1 yes.
