Default Flicking Climate Control light

I recently bought a 97 XJ and after my first drive at night i noticed that my climate control unit flickers. While trying to troubleshoot this I have found that it doesnt flicker when the engine is not running, and there is no corrosion on the connector that goes into the back of it as far as i can tell. I am not sure what ground point this would go to so i havent checked for any rust/corrosion at the ground yet. Also, the stereo (aftermarket) seems to work fine, the lights on the dash and the shifter also seem to work fine. Does anyone have any recommendations for how to troubleshoot this further (such as where the ground point would be or anything else i should look into)? I dont want to buy a new climate control module only to find out its not the box thats the problem.

(my first post so hopefully there is enough info, i couldnt find anything about this in the search)

The bulbs were replaced with LEDs before i bought it. one of the two is LEDs is dead. I have pulled them out for now and going to look into getting either new LEDs or a halogen replacement. Im worried maybe the power quality isnt great because a dead LED likely isnt a good sign. will update after i find a replacement bulb

Note from DJ

Did you remove the not working bulb and replace it with the work bulb; this will prove that the none work bulb was bad or you have a wiring problem?

i did swap the bulbs but the “working bulb” starts to flicker no matter which slot it’s put in. I just bought a pack of 10 new bulbs so I will try those out, if that doesn’t work then I’ll assume it’s electrical and I’ll try to hunt down where that unit is grounded.
