Angry fixing to take it out and shoot it.

I have a 1993 Cherokee Sport. In cold weather this jeep will crank and run good. When I make a stop for some reason, it cranks up with the check engine light on and running terrible. Had it scanned; came up with injector #5 circuitnot firing. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

This has happened to my 96 as well, it can either be a bad wire or failing injector. If it is consistent (mine is rare) clean the contacts to the injector, if that doesn't help I would take the rail off and replace at least #5. get a set of the seals as they need to be replaced any time you remove the rail and injectors.

I have replaced #5 injector, and all seals. This did not help. My gas mileage has dropped drastically also.

check your plugs and wires. sounds like you might have a broken plug.
if you let it idle at night, you might be able to see where the break is if it is in the wire. you should see a blue spark jumping out.

but definitely check your plugs, seen this so many times. actually, my buddies expedition just last month had the same problem.
