Default Fixing NP231 Part-time light issue

I used the following write-up to diagnose why my light doesn't work.

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/fi...t-np231-37548/

First i switched it into 4wd (which i know works) and the light wasn't on obviously.

So the next step would be to unplug the plug and complete the circuit. Well there are two plugs on my transfer case. One of which is black and plugs directly into a plastic adapter that is attached to the TC (SEE PICTURE) and another grey connector (to dark to take a pic).

I tested the black connector, but it didn't turn the light on.

I know it's a possibility that the bulb is burned out, but before i tear my dash apart i want to make sure i tried the right plug. Also there are 3 outlets on the plug.

Which two do you connect? I connected the outermost ones.

This is for a 2000 Cherokee Sport with a NP231.

Thanks!

There was a write up on this and I can't seem to find exactly where it is but, there are only 2 wires on that plug. I tested my with a paper clip and my light worked. It's kind of hidden towards the top of the transfer case on the driver's side. You can get to it. The hardest part was actually finding it.

Good Luck
