Fixed the toy! thank you all for your help!
Ok well I finally fixed the toy. Thank you all for your help and understanding to my uneducated questionsI’m new to the jeep scene.
I want to post this to inform anyone else having similar problems, here was the list.
1. Low MPG (around 9)
2. Stalling on right hand turns only with less than quarter tank.
3. Hard start (about 5sec.)
4. Bad fuel smell in Jeep at all times
5. Codes p0455 and p0456 (large and small evap leak)
6. Loss in power
I finally got under it to drop the tank and was amazed at what I found. The fuel pump was hanging on by one thread! It literally was out of the fuel tank lol and was still running fine until I reached a quarter tank lol (jeeps rock). That’s not it, when I take the pump out I see its glued together???
I call the previous owner and ask him what he did to the fuel pump and he told me he took it to a mechanic. The mechanic told him that he needed a new fuel pump and replaced it, when in fact there was a crack in the fuel pump and he used RTV to repair it and charged him for a new pump! And did not even install it correctly.......Well learned my lesson, always use CF forum for any problem and NEVER take my toy into a mechanic
