Default Fix one problem and another arises. 98 Cherokee.

Hi all. Just bought a jeep that had minir electrical problem. Happened to be a bad ground in the wiring harness under te air box. While trouble shooting got everything to work properly but after a test or to the head lights stopped working hi and low beam while all other lights work just fine. The high beam light doesnt show up on the dash either. Everything else works fine. Any ideas? All fuses are fine. Is there a relay or think what switch it could be? Please and thank you!

How did you check the fuses exactly? You need to find yourself a fuse diagram and use a test light on each fuse pertaining to the problem. A visual inspection of a fuse doesn't always do justice.

X2
If you don't already have one this would be a good time, and great excuse, to pick up a decent multimeter.

Yes I visually inspected. I will go through with a meter to test. Thanks. I'm really hoping its some how a bad fuse. Would you know which fuses would affect just the head lights. Is there a master fuse before the individual hi/low left/right fuses? Also separately which fuse would affect radio/blinkers/rear defrost/wiper? I was checking the multifunction switch and those stopped working. Let's just say today hasn't been my most enjoyable. Haha thanks for all you're help!

Do you have an owners and/or service manual? They are both very helpful for situations like this.

Yes I have an owners manual but it doesn't help with what the fuses are under the hood nor what relays do what. At least the relays in the car next to the fuses. Unless I'm just a poor reader. Is it possible there are other relays that I'm missing also?
