How true!

Although not an XJ, this was the scariest death trap I have ever bought and driven home, a 1979 Mustang parts car. I'm just glad it didn't catch on fire or come apart on the highway home.

I thought I was the only one that did that!!!

We run down by Sasabe and you don't want the dogs to hit on your ride down their.

Yea we run close to the border all the time and we have a few border patrol check stations around here so better safe than sorry. Never been to sasabe may have to look into it.

Go through unplug and spray out ALL electrical connections with contact cleaner, and clean up all grounding points, this is a nessesity on 87-90 renix motors.

Dont listen to everyone talking about radios and speakers. THE FIRST THING YOU DO IS CHANGE ALL YOUR FLUIDS. Change all of the wiring inside of the car before it stops working. Check under your XJ for rust/ things falling apart. check your ball joints, u joint, wheel bearings, brakes, leaf springs, front and rear axles, check for rust around your wheels, make sure your air conditioning works, THEN check your gasket seals on your oil pan AND engine (they were leaking all over my engine when i first got my car), change your spark plugs and check all your fuses. im pretty sure i got all the basic stuff, but remember you dont have to replace everything ive listed just make sure it runs good and everything ive listed works before you go expensive on the looks.

All of this should be done before the vehicle is purchased. Waiting until you get it home to check any of this is a mistake.
