Just wondering, they why do almost all shops IV been to fill a deisle filter compltly to the top before installing?

From what IV heard is that its to make sure the Turbo is properly oiled on start up.

You talking oil or fuel filters?

Don't fill a diesel's fuel filter before reinstalling and you can have hell to pay depending on which diesel it is.

You should do it on deisel or gas. Dry starts are bad, very bad

How are you filling the oil filter on a 4.0 and then turnig it upside down and installing it without major spillage?

You have to be smart and quick, only fill it half way bubba

And upsidedown? How the f is your oil filter mounted?

Also, remove the oil filler cap before you drain the oil. It'll help it drain faster as well. A little oil on the filter's gasket too.

ALWAYS oil on the gasket. Makes it easier to remove the next time.

That's one reason why you don't use Fram. They drain out at every shutdown and you get a dry start the next time you start it. Every time.

I was referring to the oil filter. At all shops IV been to and the one I work in they fill the deisle OIL filter to the top. Even when you fill it from the small outside holes it still makes its way through the filter into the center.

I just was wondering if you guys thought its bad to fill them completely up. I always been told otherwise.
