Default Finally ordered the Long Arm Upgrade.

Got the long arm upgrade, steering box brace, unibody support plates, and dual steering stabilizer kit on the way from Rusty's Offroad. Has anyone bought the long arm upgrade kit and installed it before? Curious of how hard the install is, how much more flex I'll be able to get, and if it will lift my front end up anymore. Going on a '91 XJ.

I have. make sure you drill your holes in the unibody very straight. theres little sleeves that go into the holes and if they are not straight its a pain. read the instructions a couple times before you start

if you keep the same springs it wont lift you any higher, if you keep the same shocks it wont give you any more travel (unless the old control arms hit the shock mounts before). and why did you get the dual steering stabilizer kit? thats really not necessary.

because all a stabilizer is just a band aid. if you steering and trackbar and bushing are tight you dont need a stabilizer.

Well I am keeping the same coils up front but I will be doing new shocks cause my driverside one has a broken tap on the axle. Not sure how it broke. And I'm doing the dual stablizer kit because A. It looks badass, and 2. I like the added comfort of on road driving. Lol. But as far as drilling the unibody holes I might use a right angle drill because of how far the rocker panel hangs down on either side of the unibody rails.

do you have stock coils? you never said your rig is lifted, i hope it is. the long arms would push you front axle way to far forwards if you are running the stock coils

so you have building this for looks?

yeah im lifted on a 4.5 inch Rough Country lift and its full coils and leaf springs. no coil spacers or blocks/add-a-leaf. im building this for looks and better off road capabilities.
