After much reading, I decided to just go with a shackle and spacer kit. Went with this one from Fat Bob's Garage. Can't beat that price with a stick.
Also got a set of Pro Comp ES1000 Shocks on the way. I know there are probaly better but for the price they were hard to pass up.

Can't wait to get it in and get it on. I'm soooo tired of having to baby it over speed humps and thru dips.

So, is there anything else I will need to do? Does the fr. axle move over any with a 2" lift?

 

Oops, one more ?. My next step will be bump stops. I'd like to get some of the progressive poly ones.
Where is the best place to get those?
To determine size I assume I just measure how far up my tires can go before rubbing and size the stops accordingly?

 

I have the same kit, haven't done anything special. Just threw it on and drove it. Decent kit, doesn't change anything with the driving characteristics.

 

Hey Reefmike did you get longer ES1000 shocks or stockers? I have a similar spacer/shackle lift I'm trying to install but the shocks on my 96 are preventing the rear from drooping enough to install the shackles. I think they are replacement shocks of incorrect length but I'm not sure. Just curious if you had the same issue?

 

I actually got the ones for a 3" lift.

Also added 2" extended bumps to keep from bottoming the shocks out or tires knocking my flares off.

 

I think you are safe til you go higher than 3".

 

yea you dont have to do anything til 3 and on the bumpstops i had 30s on stock wheels completely stuffed no fender rubbing, i did later find that the rear sway bar had bent the pinch section in the back like the size of a quarter but even then no fender rub lol

 

Well, I have to say I don't want to do that again for a while.

The front went in pretty easy. The extended bumps made it a little harder getting the springs back on. Definitely glad I had a good set of spring compressors.

The back on the other hand......whooped my ****.
The bottom shackle bolts came out easy. It hadn't been too long since I replaced the leaf packs.
The top ones were a PITA. They came out without breaking but they were super tight all they way. I was sore for days from taking them out.

Gotta say though, it was well worth it! The 30's aren't rubbing the flares anymore and I dig the stance it has now.
