Fender trimming help

i just used a 5 inch grinder with thin cutting disk and carved my lines in the metal before actually cutting through. then just cleaned up any hard lines with a grinding disk.
i've also had good results using a sawzall by just shortening the blade so i can keep the feet against the fender.
but here's my grinder job. i just covered the cut metal with door edge trim, available from any auto store.
