So u get in my 96 xj classic and the usual fan speed doesn't seem to kick on. I turn it up one click and nothing, etc. Finally the highest setting works but it isn't practical - too much wind. Anyhow, what could it be? Simple fix?

 

Fan meaning the one inside the car (heater, a/c).

 

Blower motor resistor!! If it only works on hi, when the resistor is bypassed, that's a good indicator of issue

I believe you'll find it down behind glove box. It's an easy fix.. YT it for some walk through vids.
