Default fan blower

Hi all,
My blower settings for the heater/AC are not working,at least on the first 3 and only comes on on the last setting #4.In other words I can only have the heat on at full blast.Any ideas on what might be wrong? Thanks.

Hey man, I suppose a welcome to the forum is in order first! It would appear that your jeep suffers from the all to common problem of vacuum issues. Good news, like everything else on these rigs, it's a pretty simple fix. Chances are there is a cracked line, or a bad PCV. A PCV is a pressure control valve. They are the little "plates" that you see in a couple of the vac lines. There is one line in particular that runs into the cab on the left side of the firewall, it should have a T connector that runs a vac line to the vac ball in the left side of bumper and a line to the manifold. Check over all the parts- no cracks in the vac ball or lines and pull the PCV's out and see if they preform their one-way-valving still. If air can move both ways, hi the JY and pull a couple off! Good luck.

Geoff,

Your blower motor resistor has failed. Modern vehicles use a single speed fan with a resistor in series . . . cheaper than a motor with multiple windings. That's why it only works at the highest speed, no resistor.

There's a small panel to remove on the passenger side to access the resistor. Here's a link to a new resistor:

Be sure to enter your year and model to be sure it fits.

Haha.. Wow. Teach me to read things thoroughly.. Somehow totally missed that it straight up was only working on full blast... And to think, I had he same issue when I bought mine... :/ well.. I guess if you find the air flow isn't maintaining the direction you set it, my answer might help..
