Default Factory tints?

I am about to install some tints on my Cherokee and just noticed that there is some factory clear tint on all my windows except the windshield. Does anyone know what the best way is to remove it without takin it to the local tint shop and paying $125?

Heat from the sun or say a hair drier, copious amounts of window cleaner with amonia and a razor blade scraper worked really good for me.

Be careful with tinting. Check your local laws. I don't know much about the US laws on it but I know some States are pretty strict about tinting. Up here in Canada, its illegal to have more than a certain degree of tint. All my windows but the driver, passenger, and windshield are tinted pretty dark and I was told they are borderline.

Ohio law I believe is 50%, so pretty useless to even have tint. Now, that is for cars. On suvs or trucks, you can have anything you want on the back windows, but the 2 front doors and windshield have to be 50. I may be wrong though as these were laws I remember from years ago.

Anyhow I just did my jeep with 20%, plenty dark, even with all tan interior. Looks sooooo much nicer now, though the old tint was completely faded and brown... that was really fun to get off.

That's great and all but I'm asking about removing tints, not the laws against them

Ok...its just that in your original post, you were talking about putting new tint on. That's the only reason I mentioned it.
