Default Factory rear springs

I've got a set of rear springs from another XJ. Can I use any of the leafs like an AAL on my springs? Which one(s)?

If they are sagging then it won't do any good.If good then you can use as many as you want depending on how much lift you want.

The other set is from a '96 and in good shape - never towed with, etc. I'm thinking I'll add one or two and see what happens. For $20, hard to go wrong.

My stock leafs were sagging, around 3/4" below stock height.
After adding a budget boost consisting of a 1.5" shackle and 1/2" block, the rear still was not 2" over stock. So I cut the ends off a stock Cherokee leaf, and added it to the existing pack. Got 1" solid lift out of this. The donor springs were in probably no better shape than mine, so, a sagging leaf married to a sagging added leaf, will get some lift, depending on the donor leaf condition.
A better condition donor, and no shackle, I would guess would give over an inch by itself.

Cool. This is what I needed to read. I'm going to pick the springs up this weekend. My 31's rub with any weight in the back and I haul stuff in it like 500 pounds of horse grain all the time. I need some more clearance.

The guy has a trans, t-case, axles, and driveshafts on hand, too, and they are cheap. I'll probably buy the trans & tcase although I don't know why, mine are just fine. I'm an incurable packrat, I guess.

The added beef of another leaf, gave my springs back their smile
Well, OK, not a big grin, but still a smile none the less.
If you want more than an inch, and more extra carrying capacity, the second leaf added to your pack will probably be at least 3/4" more lift.
Cut it to length so it's not the same length as any other leaf in the pack. Make sure the length is staggered with other leafs in the pack.

Got it. Now I've just got to go fetch them home.

Mess around with them a little bit and make sure to coat them with some form of anti rust, I like rhino liner.
