Hey, I just wanted to through a thread out there to see if anyone has a an older (say Pre-92ish) cherokee with a factory moon/sun roof? I've got an 88 4.0 auto Olympic edition that has a moon roof that you can twist the **** and raise it or just remove it all together. Does anyone else have something like this? Mine looks wwwaaaayyy to clean to be aftermarket because I have drain lines that run down the a-pillar to designated holes by the door jam. Just want to see if anyone else has this so I don't feel alone Hana.

 

My brother in law had one, but his didnt crank open I dont think, but it did leak!

 

I'm pretty sure I saw an electric sunroof on an xj in the jy recently.

 

I wish I had one. Except for the leaking part.

 

My grand cherokee has a electric sunroof! I love that thing!

 

I had a 91 that had a moon roof the crank up kind. Also had this cool switch you could change the shift points.

 

It's factory. I had one in my old '88 XJ.

I can't remember if it was in the owners manual or not, but somewhere it gave instructions on how to tie it down in the cargo area if you fully removed it.

 

I've got a factory, crank system in my 90 XJ. Yes, it leaks at the hinges as well.

 

My old '89 had the factory sunroof, it was pretty nice. Had minor leaks on the hinge assembly cause the gasket was deteriorated from 20 years of sunlight. Removed, cleaned off the old gasket, black RTV'd and it was perfect again.

 

Yes! I love mine. I recently pulled out the entire drain assy like hoses and such and cleaned em all out. During summer I take it out and the drains work well for a light drizzle but I live in western Oregon so during winter I have to rtv the hole glass to the body so I don't drown lol cuz it leaks like crazy when it rains all the time like it does here. Does anyone sell the replacement seal that goes from the glass to the mount? Cuz I have about an 1/8th inch gap in all 4 corners between the glass and seal and it leaks like a sive. And I'd like to take my glass in and out without worrying if it's gonna seal during winter. I've tried building rtv on top of the gaps to seal it but that was like putting a brass door **** on a **** house and didn't help at all.

 

Call a dealership to see if you can get a new gasket. I have a Mopar-Chrysler 1991-1993 OEM parts catalog. And I know it's listed in there. factory pop up sunroof
