Default extreme power loss and miss fire

96 xj sp . a few days ago the battery died on my xj i got it jumped started it and drove home. but when i would try to accelerate quickly it would studder and miss fire, and when im cruising and i floor it to speed up i hear the engine rev but i actuall decelerate. i have done a tune up copper plugs, new wires and cap and rotor. any ideas what could be the problem?

Also no CELL or codes when I tried to get it diagnosed. And i forgot to mention its an automatic

The battery itself is still a wildcard here. And if the battery died, it might be on its way out.

Have the battery LOAD TESTED. Any parts store will do this for free. The engine management system hates it when available battery voltage is low.

If you hear the engine rev and you are slowing down, not accelerating, you might have a transmission issue. Be sure fluid is at the correct LEVEL on the dipstick, that it is RED in color, and that it does not smell BURNT.

Now I got it running but it still misfires bad when I first take off and bad power loss after 45mph. Trany fluid levels are good and doesn't shift ruff. I wonder if a could have screwed the ecu when i jumped it? Because there were no problems till the batt died and I jumped it
