My 8.8 swaps costed me about 500$ that's with the axle, solid diff cover, brake stuff, and heavy duty iron rock spring perches shock tabs plates and ubolts
I wouldn't do it for a DD staying with 33's or less
Mines a DD but I'm getting 35's and I had to get rid of the turdy5

Here in Texas the axle is stock for goes for a bout 200$ disk to disk.
I got a deal on mine for 100$ but I don't know how much they go for where you are. Throw it up in the for sale section of your area!

 

I would swap in the 8.8 honestly. The 8.25 is strong but the 8.8 would allow you to upgrade to bigger tires in the future.
