or somebody swapped in a vac disco front axle.
don't laugh, crappy tire here in canada did this on the 93 xj i bought. the guy i bought it off doesn't know anything about jeep. neither did the mechanic that put that axle in either. charged him 700 bux too.
oh well, i bought it for 100 bux with only 100k miles. (140kms).
