Default Exploding jeep!

Well since my jeep had no title but merly a bill of sale and i get my licence soon i got a new Xj that sat in the same spot for 6-7 years That i know of its a 93 and put a new tank and fuel pump in and check the fluids all good to go and it ran! but the oil presure was WAY up So i like freaked out and killed it look at the oil sender and it was disconected and i can find the harnes to connect it watter pump was cloged up but my dad help with that because he wanted to see how much power it has and floored it and #$@*& it spun both tires and the rear drive shaft has a christler logo on it close to the tail end? After that had to test the 4wd up a hill my dad did that and stoped it and put it in 4 low and tried going up the hill and it made a grindy noise like none other(it has a np231 ) and suprizeingly no dw at 40 mph and ran a whole 5.9 miles on a half of a gallon of gas of stop and go but when i ran out it would run a 300 rpms and i could floor it and nothing but it worked when there was more fuel
There is also a hole in hose this is not my engine but it gives a idea this hose also makes a loud hiss. Thanks!

does it grind in the front or from under the floor? is it a clicking noise or like a grind when you dont use the clutch to shift?

you don't have to be moving to engage the 4wd, you just can do it while moving, did it grind the whole time while in 4low, or just when he shifted into 4low?

slow down to about 2mph or stop and shift tranny to neutral when you want to shift to 4 low.

the plug for the switch has to be in the area of the switch coming from the harness in that are see if theres any cut wires if you cannot find the plug

No luck on the oil sending unit harness my sending unit is above the oil filter is this correct for a 93 and during me and my dads testing of the 4wd It would spin both the rear tires with power but no front tires I tried this in 4 hi up a steep wet hill It also shifts relley hard into 4 lo and is a pita to get out of it and it is for sure a 231 and has the siloconey seal on it I am starting to wonder if it has it's original rear differential thing because it has crimped lines in the rear bumper from like a stem from a tire that run left and right. How could I go about getting a build sheet to confirm any of these things for free?

What you probably read about was the 249 (quadratrac) transfer case. The proper operation of the 249 is to be moving approx. 5 mph then shift the tranny into N, the tcase into 4lo and tranny back into drive. I know sounds a little weird but my moms had her '93 zj 4.0l 249tcase for 15 years. But since you have the 231 this would not apply to you.

Its probably a long shot but i would check the motor mounts and transmission crossmember for condition and tightness. If their loose or worn out it could be binding. Maybe. Good luck.
